First grade at Lonsdale Elementary is a year of excitement for our young learners. With a strong foundation established in kindergarten, our first graders embark in their studies with curiosity, laying the foundation for a lifetime of intellectual and emotional growth, and investigation of life and nature. With the help of their teachers, their parents, the staff, volunteers, and indeed their most valued peers in learning as resources, each young student grows into a successful and independent thinker. They learn to identify their own abilities and, as a result, become more confident and aware of their important role as members and contributors of a healthy community.
