Welcome from the Principal
Lonsdale Elementary School, Lincoln, Rhode Island
Welcome to Lonsdale Elementary School! My name is Melissa Goho, and I have had the privilege of serving as the principal of Lonsdale since 2014. Each day, I am honored to work alongside an incredible team of educators, students, and families who make our school such a special place to learn and grow.
As principal, my mission is to create a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment where every child is known, valued, and supported. I believe that all students deserve access to a high-quality education that challenges them academically, nurtures their social-emotional development, and prepares them to become confident, responsible members of their community.
I am deeply committed to equity and student success. At Lonsdale, we provide a standards-aligned curriculum that is thoughtfully adapted to meet the diverse needs of our learners. I work closely with our dedicated staff to implement research-based instructional practices, integrate technology, and create engaging, blended learning experiences that allow every student to thrive.
Our School Improvement Team plays a vital role in driving a continuous cycle of growth. Together, we use data to inform instruction, develop targeted action plans, and track student progress to ensure we’re meeting the needs of all our students. Whether through academic interventions, enrichment opportunities, or social-emotional supports, our goal is always to help each child reach their fullest potential.
One of the most rewarding parts of my role is building strong relationships with our families and the wider Lincoln community. I firmly believe that when schools and families collaborate, students achieve more. I’m proud to lead a school where collaboration, integrity, and kindness are at the heart of everything we do.
At Lonsdale, we also share Lincoln Public Schools' Vision of a Graduate. We strive to help our students become:
-
Skilled communicators who express themselves clearly and listen actively
-
Critical thinkers and problem-solvers who approach challenges with confidence
-
Self-directed learners who set goals and persevere
-
Collaborative teammates who value diverse perspectives
-
Socially and emotionally aware individuals who lead with empathy
-
Responsible citizens who contribute positively to their communities
Thank you for being a part of the Lonsdale family. I look forward to working together as we continue to build a school where every child can shine.
