Class of 2023

2023 grade five

End of Year Message 2023

  • Dear Lonsdale Community,

As we complete another academic year, there are so many members of the Lonsdale community who should be thanked and recognized for the many success stories that our school enjoyed. After so much great work, students, staff, and families will appreciate the summer break, enjoy the opportunity to relax and reflect, as well as eagerly look forward to the exciting times ahead.

First, let me express a heartfelt congratulations to our 5th Grade Class of 2023! I want to thank you for all your hard work throughout the school year. I am so honored to have been the Principal of students who consistently brought joy, laughter, kindness, respect, talent, and accomplishment to Lonsdale every single day.

I would like to thank every Lonsdale staff member and our families for their unwavering dedication to our students throughout the school year! In this challenging post-pandemic time, your help, encouragement, and passion played a vital role in ensuring that our students continued to receive an outstanding and memorable academic and social educational experience at Lonsdale. In particular, our Lonsdale LPT was instrumental as always for volunteering countless hours to plan and lead so many wonderful events and activities for our school community. Please also join me in thanking and acknowledging the retirements of three highly respected and talented Lonsdale teachers, Mr. Michael Maloof, Ms. Karen Moore, and Ms. Kim Cole, all of whom left an indelible positive impact on generations of Lincoln students and their colleagues. A special thanks to the long-term substitute teachers who worked this year at Lonsdale, Ms. LaRiviere, Mrs. Kircorian, Ms. Cruise, Ms. Amalfitano, and Ms. O’Hara. And of course a huge thank you to our school secretary, Ms.Vicky Ryan, who keeps everything running so efficiently and with a pleasant smile for everyone.

When we return in August, we can look forward to a promising and exciting new school year with many building enhancements planned by the School Committee and School Department, including a new media center, outdoor courtyard and learning space, and security cameras. Other plans for Lonsdale include a new HVAC system and remodeled student bathrooms. Most notably, on the upcoming November election ballot, Lincoln voters will have the opportunity to consider approving a school bond referendum to build new gymnasiums and science labs for all Lincoln elementary schools!

    Lion Pride,

    Mrs. Goho
