Music education is an important component of Lonsdale Elementary’s curriculum. Young learners show many benefits from the hearing and playing of music, along with the investigation of musical concepts and music theory.
Musical education programs support a student’s scholastic development in myriad ways as students take inspiration, not only from the music itself, but see lessons from other classes – math, science, english, social studies – echoed in song and music theory. Through exposure to music and musicians all peoples develop an appreciation for the unique relationship humans have with sound and melody. Through music we see the gifts of humanity and vast scope and spectrum of human potential.
