BC - Civility Policy
As elected public officials, the members of the Lincoln School Committee recognize the importance of conducting their public business in a manner that recognizes the importance of mutual respect and civility.

BCB & GBCB - Possession of Confidential Information or Documents by Former Employees & Public Officials
The Lincoln School Committee seeks to maintain and protect confidential information, including confidential information received through email or other electronic means and confidential documents, and further to maintain confidentiality of district, students, parents, and employees and other information as provided by state and federal law.

BG (GBD) - Staff Communications
It is the policy of the Lincoln School Committee that all school department related communications between the Lincoln Teachers’ Association, the Lincoln School Department non-certified employee Local 2671, the Lincoln School Department administrative staff and the Lincoln School Committee will be conducted through the Superintendent of Schools, who should be informed of communications between staff and school committee members prior to any such communication.

DJC - Fiscal Management Policy
A need exists to establish a uniform system for the award of contracts by the District utilizing appropriate open cooperative bids provided by Rhode Island General Law.
The Lincoln Public Schools establish this policy to ensure that all financial transactions are in compliance with state law and regulations, and acceptable to the Town of Lincoln School Committee. -
EBCB - Fire, Evacuation & Lockdown Drills
It shall be the duty of the principal or other person in charge of each Lincoln Public School to instruct and train the pupils by means of drills, so that they may appropriately comply with a school site’s emergency protocols and the school’s and District’s Safety Plans.

FA - Facilities Accessibility
All meetings, programs and activities open to the public will be held in a facility and location readily accessible to students, employees and the general public with disabilities.

FD - CYBER SECURITY POLICY
The Lincoln School Committee seeks to always prepare for a wide variety of cyber threats and hazards in school settings and create a safe, secure, resilient, and accessible education digital infrastructure as provided by state and federal law.
Lincoln strives to promote cybersecurity and make adherence to cybersecurity safeguards part of the school community culture. -
FG - Use and Display of Flags
The Lincoln School Committee and Lincoln Public Schools believe that the flag of the United States is a symbol of the values of our nation, the ideals embedded in our Constitution and the spirit that should animate our district. The district shall purchase a United States flag, and the
necessary appliances for its display upon or near every school building. -
GB and JB - TITLE IX POLICY AND PROTOCOL FOR REPORTING AND INVESTIGATING
New Title IX regulations, issued by The Secretary of Education and effective on August 14, 2020, amend the regulations implementing Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX).

The Lincoln Public School District (“District") is committed to protecting the safety and well-being of students and employees, creating and maintaining a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment and workplace.

GBAC - Social Media Policy
The Lincoln Public Schools recognize the increasingly important role that technology plays in the educational process as well as in the personal lives of the students, faculty and staff. Online discourse through social media, including, but not limited to, the use of networking sites, text messaging, blogs, discussion fora, wikis, podcasts or other forms of social media, empowers educators and students in the scope of their respective interactions. Lincoln recognizes the open exchange of ideas through the use of such media and supports this process as a means of enhancing the educational environment.

GBBB - Educator Code of Professional Responsibility
The Rhode Island Department of Education has enacted The Rhode Island Code of Professional Responsibility and the revised Basic Education Plan (BEP). The Lincoln School Committee and Administration has a statutory responsibility to follow and implement the Department of Education’s rules and regulations.

GBCA - Staff Conflicts of Interest
The Lincoln School Committee seeks to ensure that its public officials and employees adhere to the highest standards of ethical conduct, respect the public trust and the rights of all persons, to be open, accountable, responsive, avoid the appearance of impropriety, and not use their position for private gain or advantage.

GBCC - Drug-Free Workplace
Lincoln Public Schools recognizes that drug use and abuse negatively affects, not only the individual employee and his/her job-performance, but the students, co-workers, and the general operation of the school. Employee health and wellbeing is of the utmost importance when it comes to education and performance. Alcohol and drug use pose a
threat to the health and safety of employees and students. For these reasons, the school is committed to eliminating drug and/or alcohol use and abuse in the workplace. -
GBE and JHCC - HIV
Lincoln Public Schools (LPS) recognizes the magnitude and severity of the development of HIV/AIDS in the workplace. As a school district, LPS is committed to the development of policies and the implementation of programs on HIV/AIDS non-discrimination, awareness, prevention, and health support.

GBJB - Access to Personnel Files
Orderly administration of the school district requires the compilation of information about all employees. The Committee recognizes that all personnel files are confidential and must be considered privileged. The file of an individual employee will be available only to authorized administrative personnel and to the employee.

GBK - Use of Tobacco Products on School Premises
Preventing the use of tobacco, tobacco products, and e-cigarettes in schools or at school related activities can reduce the frequency in which children are exposed to e-cigarettes, or directly or secondhand to tobacco smoke thereby improving health outcomes for students, staff and visitors. Preventing the use of these products will also reduce any detrimental effect on the health and safety of students, staff and visitors.
