Dear Families,
The School Improvement Team (SIT) is an organized group of parents, teachers, and administrators working together to design and implement plans to improve our school. Your input is needed in making decisions regarding the environment and programs affecting our children. Results from the SALT Survey, which was completed by parents, students and teachers, have indicated that the following areas need to be addressed:
· Literacy: Support for the Family Literacy Center and the development of strategies that will increase scores in reading. · Professional Development: Plan how to best allocate monies for professional development and assist in designing these programs. · State Assessments: Review, evaluate, and present the results of the state assessments to parent groups and teachers. · Environmental/Building and Grounds: Work towards creating a safe, healthy, and pleasing school environment. · Communications/Technology: Develop strategies and plans for incorporating technology into our school and increase opportunities for communication. · Social Awareness: Develop strategies for students, parents, teachers and administrators that promote positive pro-social relationships.
·
Committees will be formed based on these areas. Please consider becoming a part of the team by joining one of the above committees. Please call the school at 769-0261 to find out more about how you can be of assistance.
Please complete the form below and submit it to your child’s teacher.
I would like to learn more about how I might be able to help the School Improvement Team.
I will be attending the next School Improvement Team Meeting.
