Welcome Parents, Teachers and Students!
The School Library Media Center is a very different place for students to visit today than when their parents (and we!) went to school. The library is not just a place to sit quietly to read and select books. Students receive lessons in library skills and learn how to access, process and evaluate information. We try to integrate library lessons with classroom curriculum.
This website was created to inform parents, teachers and students about the events that are taking place in the school library and to assist in homework assignments and learning in general. If you have any questions, comments or suggestions please call or send a note. We will be updating the site regularly.
Please email us with any questions or comments. We welcome your suggestions.
Thank you for visiting our web page!!

Library Policies
Circulation
Kindergarten and Grade 1--- Students select one book and they may keep the book for one week. They may renew the book once.
Grade 2---Students may select two books and they may keep them for one week. They may renew book once.
Grades 3-6 --- Students may select two books and one magazine and they may keep them for two weeks. They may renew some books only once and others until they are finished with them.
Overdue Books
Kindergarten and Grade 1 --- Students will receive a weekly reminder about overdue books. They will not be allowed to select a new book until the overdue item is returned. The only exception is if a parent contacts us about the overdue item and asks us to let the student borrow something else.
Grade 2-6--Students will receive verbal reminders about overdue items. Once a month overdue notices will be sent to classrooms. If items are overdue more than one month a notice will be mailed home.
Damaged Books
All library materials are immediately checked for damage when they are returned. If damage is minor and the material can still be used, we do not ask for payment, but we will give a reminder about proper care. A note about the damage is placed inside the book. If library materials are heavily damaged and have to be removed from the library, we will request the replacement cost for the material. We understand some material is very expensive and we are willing to accept small installments toward the replacement cost. If you or your child notices damage to a book that we have missed, please notify us immediately so we do not think it was damaged while under your child's care.
Shelf Markers
All students are given one shelf marker when they first enter our school. They are instructed to take care of their shelf marker because it is used each year to browse for books and also as their library card. Sometimes the shelf marker falls apart from normal wear and tear, in which case we will replace it. If the student abuses the shelf marker, they will be required to pay $3.00 for a replacement one.
