Development (PD) in support of Changing Instruction:

Collaboration and
Support:
For each major PD program, describe how teachers will be
provided opportunities for ongoing collaboration and
discussion regarding their PD and putting it into practice.

and District:
What school-wide
and district supports and resources will be necessary to
implement the PD? Indicate the source of funds for each
program of PD. (e. g., Article 31, Title I, etc.).

1.
PBIS-trained teachers will participate in full day
advanced training workshops throughout the 2009-2010 school
year. The teachers will receive training from the Autism
Project.
2.
The goal of the advanced training is to develop
strategies to increase improved behaviors in the more at
risk students and PEP. The goal of the Autism Project is to
learn about Social Thinking, Structured Teaching, and
Positive Behavior Strategies.
3.
The PBIS PD is offered by the Lincoln School
Department through the RI Department of Education, with full
day workshops twice per year for PBIS members and several
more workshops scheduled for the school’s PBIS coordinator.
The Austism Project will be offered at three faculty
meetings throughout the year.
4.
Progress is monitored weekly by the decrease in
referral forms sent to the office and the decrease in the
unexcused absences. Progress is also monitored quarterly
by the increased participation of students in the incentive
programs. |
5.
Teachers will be afforded the opportunity for ongoing
collaboration within the grade level and across grade levels
during weekly Common Planning meetings, monthly staff
meetings and monthly Grade Level meetings.
PBIS consultants
are available throughout the year for additional support for
the PBIS team, teachers and the PBIS program. |

The impact and
effectiveness of the Health & Wellness Action Plan will
be evidenced by decreases in behavioral referral forms,
unexcused absences, and an increase in the student
participation of the various incentive reward programs.

The PBIS team will be
responsible for organizing the evaluation results.
The evaluation
results will be monitored weekly and the reporting of the
results will be offered to the faculty during the monthly
staff meetings and parents and community during “Open
House”, and regular “Cliff” notes to parents, in the
bimonthly PTA newsletter and during the regular Parent
Involvement meetings throughout the year. |
