Welcome
Parents and Teachers! |
When students walk into a
library media center today, it’s very different than when
their parents visited the school library many years ago. We’ve
come a long way from the days in which students filed silently
into the library to choose books and sit quietly and read. Today
children are actively engaged in learning activities that promote
a life-long love of reading and learning. Along with classroom
teachers and all other members of the faculty, we are striving
to enable students to become independent learners.
This website was created to inform parents and students about
the events that are taking place in school and to assist in homework
assignments and learning in general. If you have any questions,
comments or suggestions please email me. I will be checking email
daily and updating the site often.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the LPT for their
continued support of the Lonsdale Library Media Center. Our mission
is to purchase books that support the curricular and recreational
reading needs of all students.
The LPT also sponsors the Adopt-a-Book program. This program has
been initiated to increase the number of books in our library
through student and faculty participation. To learn more about
adopting books click here. The library also accepts donated books
from students and families. If you would like to donate
books that you have already read and would like to share you can
contact the library.
Please email me with any questions or comments. I welcome your
suggestions.
Thank you!
Mrs. Ouellette
