It is our goal to provide a strong foundation of skills, which enables them to become life-long learners and responsible citizens for an-ever-changing world. We will extend our responsibilities beyond the building and into the community, to parents, civic leaders, the media, other administrators, and the school district’s central administration. We will convey high expectations and recognize that we must improve the quality of life for students and staff members. We will increase the quality of life for students and staff members. We will increase the opportunity for all to excel. NELC staff will encourage all members of the school community to take an active role in creating a quality learning environment leadership will be shared with and encouraged on the part of students, staff members, and parents. We will exhibit optimism, strong collaboration skills, initiative, enthusiasm, and above all a deep and abiding concern for what is best for all children. We will create a culture for learning that focuses on increasing student achievement and achieving program goals. A strong effort will be made in observing classroom teaching daily, conferring with teachers on ways to improve instruction, and share research findings on effective instructional practices. Analyzing of test results will be ongoing to also include parents and the community. We will encourage and assist parents in their efforts to help their children reach their potential in all areas. We will motivate all staff to participate in school reform efforts. School improvement calls for rethinking beliefs, values, and practices, and developing a systematic plan of action that is tailored to individual children’s needs. To succeed in this endeavor, we must communicate effectively with all areas of the school and community at large. We must appreciate and be sensitive to other cultures, and display high levels of moral and ethical judgment. |
