Lincoln High School Jazz Band

On May 6, 2008, the Lincoln High School Jazz Band performed for the Middle School student body.  This is a select group, lead by the multitalented (who included some age jokes at Mr. Kelley's expense) Mr. David Enos, who practice on their own, get no high school credits but practices and performs regularly throughout our community.  Their talent was on display and provides an incentive to our students to continue to make use of all their talents.  This group often competes all over our country including trips to California, Florida and an upcoming competition in Pennsylvania.  Great job Mr. Enos.

On December 20, 2007, the Lincoln Middle School band and chorus treated each grade to a wonderful holiday concert.  The hard work and practice by both groups was obvious as each performed a series of holiday favorites.  This is just another example of all the talent in our school.  Keep up the good work!

Lady Lions Give Back in a Big Way

So many times in the world of sports, the true lessons of character and success are missed. The Lady Lions basketball team is making sure that they are learning their lessons in the classroom, on the court as well as at the mall! This year’s team raised nearly $850 by running the second annual Holiday HoopFest (LMS staff vs. LMS 8th grade players). The entire group then headed out to the Lincoln Mall for a night of shopping and then spent another afternoon before practice wrapping all the gifts. Thanks to the girls for the great effort as well as to all the staff, parents and students who supported the event! See you again next year!

Holiday HoopFest 2007

Holiday HoopFest

In an exciting battle last night (December 6th) between the 8th grade members of the boys and girls programs and the LMS faculty, the students edged the teachers in overtime 84-82 in front of a great crowd at LMS gym. After last year’s exciting win by the staff in the closing minutes, the students came out hungry and motivated to prove themselves in front of a large crowd of peers and earned the victory. Congratulations to all participants and we look forward to a rematch next year!  Thanks to the generous donations of parents, staff and students, the event raised more than $800.00 for charity.  On Monday, the Lady Lions girls’ basketball program will set off on a shopping journey to purchase toys, clothing and more for several youngsters as part of the Adopt A Family Program, Toys for Tots and the Lincoln Holiday Giving Tree programs as part of their giving back to the community dedication.
