Welcome
to Lonsdale Elementary, our "Home Away From Home". We
are a school of approximately 175 students in grades 2-5, one
of four in the Lincoln (RI) Public School District. We believe
that our students have many talents. We reach all students instructionally
by creating a nurturing environment in which each can reach his
or her highest potential. Our students are engaged in learning
through the integration of arts which is culminated each year
in an Arts Show. We have high expectations for all our students
through the process of a performance-based curriculum, instruction
and assessment, linked to the current state and local school district's
standards.
Mrs.
Mary Carvalho, principal |
Our School
Improvement Team, Faculty, and Lonsdale Parent and Teacher Organization
work diligently to provide our children with the best opportunities
for learning both affectively and academically. Our Student Council
provides our school with many activities throughout the year.
They organize and present a monthly community meeting time which
recognizes the talents and accomplishments of all that are part
of our Lonsdale Family.
The Lonsdale
district kindergarten and grade 1 children attend the Fairlawn
Early Learning Center (approximately 2 miles south of Lonsdale
School) prior to joining our students as second graders. A grade
1-2 transitional program has been implemented. As you further
peruse our web site, you will be able to easily see the exciting
and challenging opportunities afforded our students.
As principal,
I am very proud of our Learning Community here at Lonsdale Elementary.
We work together as a team and support our school with a strong
belief in our mottos of Children First
and Together We Can.
You
can find directions to our school here.
