Kitten the Homeless Dog

The sound of a car screeching could be heard throughout the town as a tractor trailer came to a halt in front of a homeless dog.  The dog stayed put in front of the monstrous truck, with its legs trembling.  Soon the dog sped off into the woods.

As he was wandering through the wood he found a clearing where an old shack just sat.

The dog walked up the stairs in front of the rotted door.  An old woman came barging through the front door and hit the dog.  Then her husband came out and yelled at her.  When he turned around he saw the dog whimper.  Guy took the dog inside to take care of him.

When Guy was done bathing the dog, he named him Kitten, mainly because he had always wanted a cat.  Guy loved every bit of Kitten.  He was thinking that when his wife Helga came home she’d kick Kitten out of the house.  Guy had to hide Kitten before Helga came home.  “Why did I marry that six fingered women?” he asked himself.  So Guy hid Kitten in the toy box he still had from when his child was young.  When Helga came home she smelled a dog. She asked Guy if there was a dog in the house. He lied.

But Guy said no in a very suspicious voice.  Helga started to run around the house looking for the dog like a maniac.  When Helga stopped looking for Kitten, Guy started to tell the truth to Helga.

Guy told Helga about the dog and all the other things.

Helga called animal control, and it came in five minutes.  When they took Kitten away the people could still hear him whine.

At the animal control center they put him up for adoption.  At first Kitten was mad that he wasn’t with Guy.  An old woman bought a bull dog and the bull dog was happy.  Then Kitten wanted to be adopted by someone.

A couple of days later he was adopted by a big family named the Browns.

On the way home the bunch started to yell.  Kitten didn’t like the loud noises.  While they were screaming they heard Kitten whining and one of them said he was trying to talk.

And they all started to laugh.  All Kitten could think about was being back with Guy.  Kitten thought he would live a long life with this group of people.

Kitten finally got home after a long boring ride listening to screaming.

That night the Browns had him sleep on the couch.  In the morning the family had pancakes for breakfast, and Kitten did as well because they didn’t have any food for him yet.  During breakfast they had a conversation about what they were going to name the dog.  The conversation went on for about an hour.  Finally they found a name for the dog, John Brown.

From then on every Sunday the Browns would play with John. After they played around they went to get food and a bed for John.

That night John slept on his new comfy bed.

In the morning only one animal wasn’t awake.  John slept soundly.

At the breakfast table Mr. and Mrs. Brown were thinking where John could be.  Everyone went looking for him.  When Mr. Brown found John in his bed in the basement he yelled to everyone.  It was eleven o’clock and everyone was starving from not eating for over twelve hours.  Mrs. Brown yelled for everybody to head upstairs for bacon and eggs.  It was like a stampede.

At breakfast they were all laughing.  John now knew that he was part of a family.  That day there was a surprise for John.  The doorbell rang and everyone went running to the door.  It was Guy, coming for a visit. John ran and jumped right into his hands.
