The Lincoln
community has recognized the importance of
developmentally appropriate education for young
children by developing two early learning centers.
The two sites, Northern Lincoln Early Learning
Center and Fairlawn Early Learning Center share the
same early learning philosophy established by the
Lincoln School Department.
Fairlawn Early
Learning Center currently offers four sessions of
special needs preschool, six sessions of kindergarten
and seven grade one classes.
The total center enrollment is approximately
309 children.
The early learning
center team includes, a principal, teachers,
assistants, aides, therapists, reading specialists,
psychologist, social workers and health care
professionals.
The ELC team formed a
collaboration with parents and the community and has
established School Improvements Goals for the
2002/2003 school year.
FAIRLAWN SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT GOALS
1.
Parents and Teachers will create a Partnership
for improving
communication to meet the individual needs
of each child.
2.
The Fairlawn Community will recognize and
address the individual needs of each child in all
areas of development in order to increase student
achievement.
3.
Establish a school wide initiative, which will
assets each individual child while traveling along
the developmental continuum to achieve academic
standards.
4.
Seek alternatives funding resources to
supplement district support of school programs.
COMMUNITY
OUTREACH PROJECTS
Fairlawn
Early Learning Center will participate in a variety
of programs during the school year.
Fairlawn participates in the Feinstein
Program. The
school has earned $1,000.00 grants
for two
consecutive years for outstanding community service.
