MISSION STATEMENT

 

The Lincoln Public School District, an educational system with a tradition for excellence, challenged by growth and diversity, is dedicated to building a partnership of home, school, and community, in order to provide educational opportunity through standards-based curriculum and high quality instruction so that all students can learn the skills needed to be productive citizens in a global society.

OBJECTIVE #1

·        By 2005, student achievement will improve by 5% annually in the areas of literacy, mathematics, science, health, technology, and applied learning as measured by required State and district performance assessments.

 

STRATEGIES

·        We will analyze State Assessment results for the purpose of determining curriculum revision and/or instructional changes.

 

·        We will design and/or revise district portfolio requirements and performance assessments to provide a complete assessment protocol.

 

·        We will provide appropriate professional development activities to assist staff in implementing those instructional procedures which will improve student achievement.

 

·        We will provide remedial programming for students to improve academic achievement.

OBJECTIVE #2

·        The Lincoln School Department will fully implement a standards-based curriculum on a K – 12 continuum by 2005.

 

STRATEGIES

 

·        We will review and revise all curriculums according to the curriculum development cycle to align with district adopted standards.

 

·        We will support professional development plans which align with standards-based curriculum revision.

 

·        We will support and expect grade level articulation of instruction K – 12 in all curriculum areas.

OBJECTIVE #3

·        Every school will develop a comprehensive home, school, and community partnership by 2003.

 

STRATEGIES

 

 

·        We will develop multiple collaborative programs between homes and schools to educate and engage families in the educational process involving their children.

 

·        We will initiate alliances with business and community agencies to assist in acquiring necessary funding and resources for implementing and sustaining school, home, and community involvement programs.

 

·        We will empower our individual schools and support their efforts in developing and implementing school improvement plans that are consistent with the district policy regarding parent, family, and community involvement.

·        The Lincoln School Department will endorse a comprehensive plan that supports improved instructional programs, space, and facilities by 2002.

 

 

STRATEGY
