"Paws" to READ
Reading Week Activities
This year's guest author will be Richard Stack and his dog Recess.
Mr. Stack has written 5 books which are being read aloud to students during library class
in February and March. His signed books will be offered for sale to the students.
Reading Week Tee-shirts will also be offered for sale from which $1.50 goes to the animal shelter
and have Central Elementary, Reading Week 2004, "Paws" to Read printed on the sleeve.
Other activites during the week will include no TV day, wear a shirt with print
on it, week long book swaps in the classrooms, and family members
reading aloud to students during library class.
Family Night
At the end of the week our clebration will culminate with a
Family Night on Friday, April 2nd from 6 to 8pm in the school gym.
The spring Book Fair (buy one, get one free) will be held as well as
activity tables, raffles, refreshments, Adopt-a-Book table,
and a story reading area which will feature local community personnel.
Everyone is welcome and volunteers are needed!
